Pop Culture

I have learned more information about the Popular Culture of America after i took this course. The popular culture can really influence me in my life. I realized that i have changed my culture a little bit since i have been in the United States. In daily, i will usually say "have a good day" for my friends after i say goodbye as well as i will say "how are u doing" when i meet someone that i never say in China. I like to watch the American movies and listen to the music during my free time because i can learn some culture of the U.S through it. The best important thing i have changed that is i would like to enjoy the festival days just like what the native American do, for example, i will go to the Best Buy store to buy what i want to buy at thanksgiving though i need to wait for a whole night. I think it is a good point to show that why the culture of America is different from other countries'.

A Thousand Miles is one of my favorite songs, it is also the first English song that I listen to in my life. I like this kind of music because it can make u feel soft and relaxe when you are listening. I usually like to listen to the soft pop music after working a whole day. Sometime, I will also listen to the different styles of music in different ways. I think music should be a part of our life as a pop culture.

READING

I pick As Text Messages Fly, Danger Lurks this reading which i read in the class. I knew what was this reading talking about in generally after i read all of it. As we know, text messages is more and more popular among the teenagers, they send messages instead of giving a phone calls because they think text messages will be better than phone calls in some different situation. However, some accidents happened because of they are texting messages while they are crossing the street without pay more attention to the coming cars. I think this is a very important problem which teenagers should know it. After i read this whole reading, some thing surprise me that is teenagers sent or received text messages are more than made or answered phone calls in a month. As we know, it costs us 20 cents to send a message, I think it will cost us much money as we sent lots of messages.

MOVIE: The Departed 2006

The Departed is one of 2006's best movies, without a doubt. It is a crime thriller movie that fully reflects what is the gangsterdom looks like. This movie takes place in Boston,Massachusetts in 2006, the director is Martin Scorsese who is very famous director in the United States. There are two handsome main actors Adam Sandler and Matt Damon. The whole movie generally talking about these two guys, both of them are "rats"
Agents are very important focus of this movie. The police assign a cop as an agent to infiltrate Costello's crew, however, Costello also plants his protege as an informant within the police. Later, both Costello and polices notice that there is "rat" inside their crew and start the work to find out the agents. At last, the police defeat Costello's crew, and Damon wants to restore, but finally he was killed by the agent of Costello.

Technology

As we know, we can't live without the technology in this manifold world. Technology is very important for us in our life. I think almost all of the people in the world use technology every day. I usually use cell phone, computer, dictionary and car daily. I think cell phone, computer and dictionary are absolutely necessary for me because i can use my cell phone to connect with somone very fast, computer as a technology that i use it to do my homework,watch the News and search something on line. I usually use dictionary in class when i read words that i don't understand. It's helpful for me to learn English. I think some technology can mirror the pop culture to us as a thing.

The Three Words Video

My three words of this video is Let's Help Them. As we know, there are lots of poor people in the world, they dont have enough food even no food to eat, they lose their families by some reasons and live without families' warmth. They want to go back to school and they need homes, that is why i choose these three words in this video.

My Favorite TV Show

Prison Break is one of my favorite TV shows, it has four seasons . Look at those eight men who break from the Fox River State Penitentiary, they are the main actors of this TV show. Michael Scofield design a very complete and perfect plan to save his brother Lincoln Burrows from Prison. By some reasons, there are more people join in their plan and finally all of them are success to break from prison. I am very admire what did Michael Scofield do to save his brother.
